NEW YORK, NY (August 31, 2020) – Steinway & Sons is proud to announce the conclusion of a special auction to support the MusiCares® COVID-19 Relief. On August 15, a generous bidder won the online auction of a beautiful Steinway-designed Boston 126E upright piano—finished in brilliant turquoise and signed by 15-time GRAMMY® Award-winning singer and songwriter Alicia Keys. The final sale generated $35,000 for the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief, which seeks to alleviate the enormous financial burden placed on people in the music industry who are adversely impacted by the global pandemic.

Steinway Partners with Piano Cleveland on Virtu(al)oso Competition for Artist Relief
ASTORIA, NY (August 13, 2020) – This week, Piano Cleveland—with the enthusiastic support and sponsorship of Steinway & Sons—concluded an innovative global piano competition that spanned 12 days and raised more than $62,000 in relief funds for piano artists affected by the devastating COVID-19 pandemic. The Virtu(al)oso competition culminated in Sunday’s announcement of London’s Martin James Bartlett as the First Prize Winner. Bartlett competed against 29 additional participants hailing from 18 different countries.

Brooklyn Conservatory of Music to Host Steinway Day Festival February 21
ASTORIA, NY (February 19, 2020) – On Friday, February 21, the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music (BKCM) will host an event to celebrate the institution’s recent achievement of the prestigious “All-Steinway School” designation. BKCM is now one of only three non-profit community music schools in the United States to carry this distinction, which represents a promise to offer only the finest pianos in the world to the school’s students, faculty, visiting artists, and community users. The designation will be marked by Friday’s “Steinway Day” Piano Festival and Open House, which will culminate with a free evening performance by jazz legend and Steinway Artist Kenny Barron. For First Time, Steinway Baby Grand Piano from the Historic SS United States Now on Public Display at Steinway Hall in New York
